Coffee Maker Reviews | Review of Espresso Machines
When shopping for a coffee or espresso maker of any kind, consider a few factors before purchasing: size, cleanup, warranty and “bonus features”.
The size should be your first consideration — are you looking for a machine that can make a significant amount of coffee and are willing to sacrifice the counter space needed to house it? Models range from single-cup makers to oversized models that can crank out 14 cups or more in a single brewing session.
Ease of cleanup is another important consideration. It can be difficult to fish coffee grounds out of all the nooks and crannies of your machine. Choose a product that is well-designed and well thought-out and this should not be a problem.
A decent warranty is a must if you’re spending a significant amount of money. Reputable vendors will stand behind their industrial-grade machines while lesser-known vendors may not. If you’re in the market for a low-cost machine, this is clearly not as important.
Finally, “bonus features” such as programmability, a built-in gold filter, and variable warming cycles may be just the thing to distinguish one machine from being a pleasure to use vs. one that is merely okay.
