Spyderco Byrd Cara Cara Knife Review These Byrd knives from Spyderco are really pretty cool. Spyderco didn't skimp on the materials, but rather provided simple, no-nonsense blades that are inexpensive and good-looking.

The Cara Cara sports a hollow-ground high-carbon, chromium, molybdenum and vanadium alloy that is a great combination for edge retention and hardness.

It features a tear-drop shaped grip hole in the blade for easy opening and closing, contours on the spine (called "jimping") for a secure thumb grip and a contoured stainless steel handle with finger choil for a non-slip grip.

It's available with a plain or combo edge. The blade is available with a non-reflective black coating or with a plain, satin finish.

This knife doesn't have the wild look of some other Spyderco knives. Rather, it's a simple, useful knife made of a high-quality steel and priced right.
