Spyderco Cricket C29 Knife | Small Stainless Steel Folding Pocket Clip Blade

Posted on: Nov 17

Spyderco Cricket C29 Knife Spyderco's new Cricket SS C29 is super-duper thin. With a genius idea from custom knife maker Chris Reeve, the linerlock's liner is actually made out of the handle's backside scale, essentially reducing the thickness from thin to ultra-thin, but still ensuring a secure locking mechanism with fewer moving parts. When folded closed, the Cricket's oval shape is pretty much unnoticeable in a pocket - 2 ?" long, 1.75 ounces, about the size of the remote keyless entry system for your car, only thinner.

The 1 7/8" blade is made with VG-10 stainless steel - a strong steel with good edge retention - designed in a reverse-S shaped plain edge with a deep belly and downward curving tip, hollow ground for a concave shape over the cutting surface. A 7/16" diameter thumb hole allows for one-handed ambidextrous opening, but the stainless steel pocket clip favors right-handed tip down carry.

The Cricket is a great little pocket knife. The small design is one thing to consider - the Cricket will work best for minor tasks and, with the reverse-S edge, precision cuts. And I like that, with the pocket clip, this knife makes a great money clip.
