Victorinox SwissTool X Mult-Tool As fond as we are of Leatherman products, here's a multitool from Victorinox that dares to raise the bar. It's the SwissTool X, and it might just cause you to rethink some things like it did for us.

At first glance, the SwissTool X seems to have many (if not all) of the same features as a Leatherman or SOG tool, but the differences within those features are very subtle and worth mentioning.

One distinguishable feature is that each one of the accessories is individually locking when you use the built-in slide lock. They're also accessible via Victorinox's OneStep Access system -- meaning you don't have to open the tool up to use what you want. This includes the pliers too.

Each tool is attached to the handle with individual springs, too, so you won't feel like all the tools are clumped together when you're reaching in, trying to get what you want. It's a lot easier.

The SwissTool X comes with the following tools: plain-edge knife, scissors, pliers, large three flat-head screwdrivers, Phillips screwdriver, wire stripper, bender, scraper, crimper, cutter, bottle opener, wood saw, reamer, chisel, crate/can opener, and a 9-inch ruler.

The tool also comes with a collectible tin case, as well as a nylon belt pouch so you can carry it around safely. And like all Victorinox tools, it comes backed with a lifetime warranty. We think this one's a keeper.
