Wasabi by Kershaw 8.25-Inch Deba KnifeTired of buying a new knife every couple of years? Try this sturdy Wasabi Deba Knife manufactured by Kershaw.

This 8-1/4 inch knife is very handy for chopping vegetables, slicing up poultry, or even boning fish.

The durable handle, made of polypropylene mixed with bamboo powder, is attached to a one-inch carbon blade.

This blade is specially designed with a hollow-ground back and contains air pocket so that food does not stick to the blade while cutting.

The name 'Wasabi' is written in Japanese script along the blade. The blade itself is coated with an antibacterial substance to prevent spreading food-borne infections.

This product carries a limited lifetime warranty.

I use this knife in a pro kitchen as my “brute force” knife. The blade is thick and heavy but the single edge lets it be sharp while tough. I often had to seperate 10lb blocks of half frozen beef or chicken…..like about 100 lb total. I’ve had to quarter 80 chickens, and make it pronto. This knife does it best. Just the same,it’s a pretty decent “chef’s” knife (way better than the house knives) but not as good as my Forschner. The handle is basic and tough, not too ergonomic. You can however chop veggies well. It holds its edge even after whacking up chickens, and the single bevel is quick to re-sharpen. Slicing with it is a bit “odd” as it tends to slice in a bit of an arc. Makes a great “second” knife.
